Population Control

Description

Population Control is inspired by the disturbing contest taking place by PETA on 4-27-2011.
Direct link to the PETA website [link] reads, “Are you the kind of guy who does everything with his dog? Are you a team player? If you're considering getting your cat or dog "snipped" and have thought about getting "fixed" yourself, PETA wants to reward you for helping to end human and animal overpopulation by picking up the tab for your vasectomy. We give out thousands of spay and neuter surgeries every year, but never before like this! Visit our "Win a Vasectomy From PETA" page to see how to get your free "snip" in a snap.”
This is from the PETA website and I couldn’t help but react to this appalling idea. It immediately gave me the image of a faceless man bent down on his knees worshipping a sign reading, “BE RESPONSIBLE SPAY OR NEUTER YOURSELF TODAY.” The figure holding a sharp object in his right hand immersed in blood from castrating himself. Still wearing his blood soaked underwear bleeding down his legs and all over the PETA sign below him. In his left hand he holds a card with a skull and Hg, symbolizing our ignorance in killing ourselves and our identity.
The rules page is even more alarming reading, “It's a two-fer: Get your animal companion fixed, and get yourself fixed too! Human overpopulation is crowding out animal life on the planet, and dog and cat overpopulation is creating a euthanasia crisis that is a crying shame. Disappearing wilderness, vanishing water resources, and pollution is the price that future generations will pay for more human births, while losing their lives is the price that millions of homeless dogs and cats pay when guardians neglect to "fix" their companion animals.”
I couldn’t even make this kind of stuff up if I tried. All I ask is for us to honestly think about what are we doing to ourselves?

Nothing wrong with human population control, look what's happening in the Third World and those are the countries with the most biodiversity and ethnodiversity. They have a lot more to lose than those of us who live in industrialized countries. We got our own set of problems to contend with on the homefront, before anyone goes on ranting about any "human right" to determine family size in some other far off continent or country.
